Charles Edouard Jeanneret, conocido como Le Corbusier, nació en Suiza, octubre. del 1887, Fué un arquitecto que jugó un papel decisivo en el desarrollo de la arquitectura moderna. El estudió primero (1908-10) en París con el agosto Perret, y entonces trabajó (1910) por varios meses en el estudio de Berlín de diseñador industrial Peter Behrens, donde él reunió a los líderes futuros de Bauhaus Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe y Walter Gropius. En breve después que Primera Guerra Mundial, Jeanneret acudió a pintar y founded, con Amedee Ozenfant, el offshoot de purist del cubismo. Con la publicación (1923) de su colección influyente de ensayos de polemical, la arquitectura de une de Vers (Hacia una Arquitectura Nueva, Eng. repr. 1970), él adoptó el nombre Le Corbusier y dedicó su energía y el talento repletos a crear una forma radicalmente moderna de la expresión arquitectónica.

Charles Edouard Jeanneret, known as Le Corbusier, b. La Chaux-de-fonds, Switzerland, Oct. 6, 1887, d. 1965, was a Swiss-French architect who played a decisive role in the development of modern architecture. He first studied (1908-10) in Paris with August Perret, and then worked (1910) for several months in the Berlin studio of industrial designer Peter Behrens, where he met the future Bauhaus leaders Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Walter Gropius. Shortly after World War I, Jeanneret turned to painting and founded, with Amedee Ozenfant, the purist offshoot of cubism. With the publication (1923) of his influential collection of polemical essays, Vers une architecture (Towards a New Architecture, Eng. repr. 1970), he adopted the name Le Corbusier and devoted his full energy and talent to creating a radically modern form of architectural expression.
